Writing for the Wall Street Journal, Jeremy Wagstaff published a 3-part series on the Slashdot effect. The WSJ is subscription only, but Jeremy has posted about it on his blog and includes quotes from Byron about Clip-n-Seal. Slashdot is a geek blog. If you get Slashdotted, that means there's been a posting about your site and a subsequent crush of traffic. Clip-n-Seal hasn't been slashdotted, but hit the trifecta last year with Gizmodo, Boing Boing, and 37 Signals. Byron discusses that in his interview with Jeremy and notes how a blog post will outsell an online ad.
